Hire Me
If you like what you see and you just can’t get enough, I’m available for contract work on smaller, short-term PHP and MySQL projects.
I currently work full-time, so I am unable to accept projects that require travel or “normal” business hours, but if you’ve got a small project or Facebook application you need help with, I’d be happy to discuss it with you.
Short-term projects with quick turnaround times are my specialty, and I will often make time for projects that I find interesting. I am, of course, happy to sign an NDA if required.
I have been a professional web developer for 14 years, a blogger for 15 years (I was a blogger before blogging had a name), and have co-authored two books on PHP/MySQL development.
Through full-time employment and independent contracts have worked on web development projects for clients including:
* San Diego Zoo
* San Diego Padres
* Sunkist
* Intel
* Puma
* Vitamin Water
* Sears
* CBS
* J.P. Morgan Chase
* Chase Bank
* Jenny Craig
* American College of Sport Medicine
* Scripps Research Institute
It should be mentioned that the opinions expressed on snipe.net are mine and mine alone, and do not reflect the opinions of any of the above companies.
In addition to web application development, I also do design work (both online and off) and video editing in FinalCut.

Note: If you are in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area and require videography, lighting, theatrical design or production assistance for a film or commercial, please contact Lars Lunde at lars@lundegaard.com.
Hate Facebook Games? Turn Off the API
Posted on August 29, 2010 by snipe in Featured, Geek Life
I spend a lot of time talking complaining about Facebook, and warning people about Facebook’s less-than-ethical privacy changes over the past year. While turning off the API altogether probably isn’t for everyone, it is possible. Every time Facebook does something else awful with their privacy settings, I get all fired up and want to write [...]

Good news, everyone! My compulsive need to make websites and write content has struck again, this time resulting in my new site, FBMHell.Com, which I hope will evolve into a great resource for Facebook developers, whether you’re an app developer or fan page designer. It’s literally just been launched, so I’m looking for your help. [...]

Backup Your Mac to AS3 with Arq
Posted on June 29, 2010 by snipe in Featured, Mac Downloads
There are about 900 different options available to automatically back up your Mac, none of which I have been in love with until now. If you’ve been reading my blog for more than three minutes, you’ve probably come across a post where I strongly recommend (okay, balls-out lecture, harp, nag and preach) that you should [...]
Review of the 17-inch BookBook
Posted on June 28, 2010 by snipe in Featured, Geek Life
I posted about the gorgeous BookBook laptop case for the 15″ Macbook Pro back in January on TehAwesome.Net, and have been impatiently waiting for a 17″ model. They’re finally available (first come, first serve!), and I received mine today. The BookBook is a hand-crafted leather laptop case that when closed, looks like an antique leatherbound [...]
Upgrading to WordPress 3.0 and Adding Multi-Site
Posted on June 19, 2010 by snipe in Featured, PHP/mySQL
WordPress 3.0, code name “Thelonious”, has been released, and it brings multi-site functionality as part of the core. As someone with far too many blogs of my own, I thought this would be a great time to start switching them all over, and let you know what you’re in for if you choose to do [...]
Want to Set a Default Landing Tab on Your Facebook Fan Page? It’ll Cost You
Posted on May 19, 2010 by snipe in Featured, Web Development
You’re gonna love this. And by love I mean be filled with rage. I started receiving emails from people today, frustrated that they could no longer set a specific tab as their default landing tab in Facebook. Everyone assumed it was a bug. It’s not. UPDATE May 20, 10:45AM: Facebook has actually apologized and done [...]

In a previous tutorial, you learned how to Extend Facebook Static FBML Tabs with Dynamic Content, and now we’re back to show you how to take it even further by creating sub-nav tab navigation within your Static FBML microsite using only DynamicFBML. The previous tutorial, I walked you through how to use clicktohide and clicktoshow [...]
Symphony of Science

Also known as “The only good thing Auto-Tune has ever been used for. Ever. Except maybe this.” This project isn’t particularly new, and I have been basking in the geekiness of this music for a while, but I just realized I neglected to share it with you. What a horrible, selfish whore I am. (Incidentally, [...]
