It’s not easy for the man in the street to understand the security side of websites. There should be something built into the WP core like Bulletproof security which is one I like.

I think there’s a typo in the search query:

select * from wp_usermeta where meta_values LIKE ‘%administrator%’;

it should be:

select * from wp_usermeta where meta_value LIKE ‘%administrator%’;

I had a client’s wordpress blog hacked at one point and, after searching forums a bit, I found this fantastic group of security guys which cleaned up my client’s wordpress site within 30 minutes! They also monitor it 24/7 which is awesome for peace of mind!
