When Microsoft stops using Windows on the server level and starts running BSD or Linux it will be a start. Use of Open Source software does not automatically turn a bunch of talentless hacks into skilled programmers. Why would they choose to run Hadoop? Java on the server has never been my idea of stripped down lean and mean efficiency.

I had no idea he was going to be there until I walked right past him in the summit! I got a chance to have a few drinks with him and talk at length about MS, life, politics and just about everything else you could imagine, and he's just an amazing person. SO glad to have been able to catch him - it was one of the real highlights of the trip :)
