http://www.dotcom-monitor.com has many free services here http://www.dotcom-monitor.com/task_instant_test... as well as paid services and has been around since 1998…they've got every kind of monitoing you can think of. I've used them for both paid and free services.

It's good to know that there still are some free ways of monitoring a site. I'd never pay for a service I can't try beforehand. I think I'm gonna check out the two examples you gave and see how those services work. If all it's good I might get a payed service.

There’s another site you missed. We offer Site Monitoring at Cronless.com (Online Cron Service Replacement, but we have constant site monitoring for VERY cheap compared to other services… $27/year, monitoring once/min with SMS, IM and email notification)
