I’ve read a lot on digital point forums and disabled and enabled this and that, it helped for a while, but then another way came around like they found another way to register. I’ve been testing the fassim.com anit spam plugin and it has cut a of the registrations down a lot, i like the post mod feature too.

For ppl who have money, vbulletin is the most easy way to avoid almost all spam things that u said here.. But for me as a n00b publisher, choose a SMF and its works great till now.

The bad things of SMF & phpBB is same.. its not like vBulletin, plug and play, need some hack several lines in several files, damn! I hate that...

Does anyone know if you can block Facebook Connect from your vbulletin site if they submit spam? I would like to treat Facebook Connect users the same as regular users. I have tried to get information on this from the VBulletin mod site, but have not been successful in receiving an answer.

Thank you!

Do u know how I got rid of 99% of all my spam problems?
no plugins, no multiple barriers of protection .... after months of being frustrated, I just banned the entire ip range of China ... and hey presto, no more spam on my forums!!!
I got the ip ranges from http://blockacountry.com/ and then just put them in my htaccess.
